What is assisted purchasing service?
Some websites can be challenging to navigate– either they're overly complex or don't support international payments. Additionally, some may require Korean identification details like a phone number or PCCN (Personal Customs Clearance Number). That's where our assisted purchasing service comes in. Our team will handle the ordering process for you, so you can sit back and relax.
How can I request assisted purchasing?
Sign Up to create an account with us. When your account is approved, log in and navigate to the SHOP FOR ME tab. Then click on the NEW SHOPPING REQUEST button and fill out the information.
How do I know when the item I requested is purchased or secured?
The status in your account is updated to 'ORDERED BY TKA' and we enter the order number in the additional details section of your request.
Why is there a separate invoice for shipping?
Since the shipping fee is based on the box's size and weight, we need its exact dimensions and weight to provide the final cost. Issuing two separate invoices can ensure you that you are not under or over charged for the shipping fees.
Moreover, local retailers sometimes use over sized boxes and excessive padding, which are unsuitable for international shipping. When necessary, we repackage items into appropriately sized corrugated boxes to ensure better protection during transit and to help lower shipping costs.
What is payment processing fee and why is it required for my assisted purchasing request?
When you pay for items using methods like PayPal or credit cards, a payment processing fee is charged. This fee is a percentage of your total payment amount, which payment platforms such as PayPal or credit card companies deduct. Additionally, these platforms often use unfavorable exchange rates when converting your USD or other currencies, to the local currency (KRW), causing a shortfall. As a result, the assisted purchaser receives less than the full value of your payment. To cover this gap, the payment processing fee is added to your order, ensuring the assisted purchaser has sufficient funds to complete your purchase in the local currency without incurring a loss.
What are the different types of assisted purchasing?
Online Regular - Standard type of request for products which can be ordered online as long as it is available.
Online Timed Order - Need to be purchased at a certain time, usually for products with limited stocks.
Bunjang & Other 2nd Hand Market places - Bunjang is a used goods platform and the go to site for rare celebrity merchandise.
Offline - this requires us to visit the store personally.
Can I cancel my request?
You can cancel a request before it is processed. There is only a very limited time frame for cancellations since we place it shortly after we received your requests.
Are there restrictions on the types of products I can order through your assisted purchasing/proxy buying service?
Prohibited Items generally include: Prescription medicines and dietary supplements; Art, antiques, precious stones and metals; Money, Credit/Debit Cards, valuable documents such passports; Food products, Perishable products, Plants; Flammable products, Liquid products; Dangerous goods (chemicals, paints, batteries, perfumes). What happens if the item/s I requested is out of stock after I pay?
We check item or product availability before sending you the 'Payment of Goods' invoice. If the product is out of stock after you pay, we will promptly issue a refund.
The status of my order is 'Ordered by TKA' but it's taking a long time to get shipped to TKA. What's wrong?
When submitting a 'New Shopping Request' check out the release or delivery date for the item you're interested in. If the item is a pre-order, it might take longer to be delivered at The K-Addy.
Do you facilitate Offline Assisted Purchasing?
Yes, we offer assisted purchasing under the following conditions:
Availability: If the items you're interested in are readily available at a local store, we can provide assistance.
Service Area: Busan Metropolitan Area
Advance Payment: The total item cost, assisted purchasing fees (listed below), must be paid in advance.
Fees:
Handling Fee ~ $3/item
Payment Processing Fee ~ 6% of total item price, minimum $6
Offline Shopping Assistance Fee ~ $25 per hour for the time spent visiting the store
Transportation Cost ~ TBD (to be determined)
Please note offline shopping assistance fee and transportation fee are non-refundable.

Do you ship to addresses in Korea for Assisted Purchasing requests? (domestic shipping)

- we do not ship to commercial or business addresses.
Customs duties and taxes are calculated at the destination country and is the responsibility of the recipient or owner of the package.
